Key To My Father

Posted by sisyus in Part1  Tagged

It is a good short story, however father and son relations are not always like that in real life. Situations gets more complex and harder to control.Apart from that writer  was very good at explaning personal features of the characters.

A Rose For Emily

We can see Miss Emily Grierson is rich from that her father loaned  money to the town. We can also notice that from her house, her car and her servant.

I would like to work on the aspect “Why Miss Emily Grierson is lonely”

Emily is lonely because after the death of her father everything was changed. They had a close relationship with her father this can be seen through the event which Emily did not let the town folks to bury her father. She felt lonelier after her father has passed. There is also a class difference between Miss Emily and the rest of the town.

Is Plagiarism the same type of stealing as music piracy?

Is Plagiarism the same type of stealing as music piracy?

Software’s became a very important part of a society’s everyday life. It is very easy to see that; The most basic example  is, students listening to music through hardware’s like Ipod. It is a known fact between collage students that using free mp3 files which is downloaded through internet is illegal. The unknown fact is copyright laws are not only for mp3 files, it is illegal to download game software’s, videos, books etc. Is plagiarism the same type of stealing as music piracy? There are two important parts of this topic. How does it affecting the economy and How ethical is it?

It is a known fact that majority of the society is downloading free software’s through internet.  %71 of the internet users either do not care or do not have any idea about the copyright laws. There is a simple theory about why do not they care?; With the emergence of the internet society got tired of the increasing prices of music products. That made the society to make copies of the current products and share it through internet. However this only made things to get harder. With the decrease of customers product prices got higher and higher. Listening to rhetoric from the RIAA, et al. ,  you might infer that copyright laws had been handed down on stone tablets by the Almighty. But to be able to understand that it is ethical or not ; sharing mp3 files  , recording videos through broadcast  it is a must to think those activities as a whole “Sharing free software’s”.  Software gaming companies are using plagiarism all the time. It is possible to see this issue in the Blizzard’s latest game “World of Warcraft-Wrath of the lich king.” . Mythic Entertainment company released a game called Warhammer Online with unique game features , after the release of Warhammer, Blizzard entertainment added same features to their game. When we pay attention to the topic on game developer’s perspective it is called “improving the product” but when its looked in  an academic perspective it is called plagiarism. However this does not mean that what game developers are doing is wrong. Academic writing and game developing are different issues. About sharing a mp3 file and sharing game; it is totally a different issue. Game developers are using unique protection system to be able to avoid free sharing of the game. For example; If a customer wants to be able to play the game online he should use his own unique security code. And online games are  supported by servers which allows you to play the game. Other option then paying for the game is to download it through internet but the user will not be able to experience the same joy with a customer who paid for the game. Point about this issue is that Mp3’s and game are both software’s that has copyright laws. Recording companies are more sensitive about this issue because of they are not able to protect their product like game companies. Music is a product created by various artists. Society is using the product for free this might called theft but not plagiarism. Society is not stealing lyrics of the song and publishing it as his or her own product. In plagiarism a person is actually using another person’s idea’s and creativity without giving any reference.

Plagiarism is not same type of stealing as music piracy.  Record companies are making this issue a big deal because of they are not able to control the sharing traffic. Copyright laws are clear and sharing software’s sure is a kind of stealing but it is clearly different from plagiarism. To be able to solve that issue record companies must find new ways in order to protect their products.
